The Ministry of Transport has established a special fund for transportation energy conservation and emission reduction since 2011. It encourages enterprises and institutions to obtain energy-saving and emission reduction application results using the “substitution for compensation” method. This funding focuses on institutional, management, and technological innovations to drive the development of green transportation.

In the field of transportation, how to more effectively exert the energy-saving effects of LED lighting and display products, and make the responsible persons of highway construction and design agencies in provinces and cities recognize and accept the LED transformation program, which has also become a topic discussed by many experts. Three ministries tunnel LED lighting demonstration project involves 15 highway tunnel LED lighting demonstration projects, across 14 provinces and cities, through rigorous experimental measurements, and finally came to LED lamps higher pressure sodium lamp: average power saving of about 73.1%, 72.6% and 24h during the day and 61.4%; Finer dimming than grading dimming: 48h average power saving of about 32.07% of the conclusions.

The "Highway LED Lighting" industry standard compiled by the Institute of Highway Research of the Ministry of Transport and Shanghai Sansi, and ultimately the scope, normative references, terms and definitions, classification and naming, and technical requirements of the LED highway lighting industry Test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage have been clearly defined, providing a strong basis for the standardization and development of the LED highway lighting industry.
