Anritsu adds more enhanced NBFM testing capabilities to the LMR Master series

Anritsu Company has launched a series of enhanced functions for its LMR Master S412E, including a new APCO P25 Phase 2 (TDMA) signal analyzer and more enhanced NBFM testing capabilities. Add these functions to the existing ninth generation platform, further positioning the S412E as the most complete handheld analyzer to ensure the correct deployment, installation and maintenance of front-line personnel for commercial land mobile radio (LMR) and public safety networks Luck.

The newly added P25 Phase 2 supports the TIA.102-CCAA standard, and is based on the existing PMR (TIA.102-CAAA-C) signal analyzer of LMR Master. It allows users to test and verify the performance of P25 FDMA and TDMA systems. Like all other LMR Master signal analyzers, this instrument provides optional coverage analysis capabilities to analyze the system's RSSI, BER, and modulation fidelity.

LMR Master's expanded NBFM support includes CTCSS / DCS in SINAD mode and user-selectable C-Message filtering in SINAD. Other NBFM enhancements include the ability to adjust deviation measurements to display peak, RMS, or average values. Updated QuieTIng and SINAD graphical user interfaces have also improved ease of use by providing easier measurement and reading.

Anritsu has also strengthened the hardware of LMR Master S412E to comply with TIA-603-D specifications. The updated hardware on the Audio-In port can support voltages in excess of 1.77 Vrms. When users perform SINAD and Quieting measurements, they have a 50k ohms impedance to comply with the TIA-603-D standard. The LMR Master improved signal generator provides 0.1 dB resolution and a signal level as low as -130 dBm.

The compact handheld multi-function analyzer is specially developed for technicians and engineers who install and maintain public safety, utilities and private mobile communication systems. LMR Master provides a complete solution to support narrow-band analog FM, including FMDA and TDMA P25, NXDN, ETSI DMR / MotoTRBO, FD-LTE for FirstNet broadband public safety LTE deployment, and the emerging Positive Train Control (ITC-R) standard.

Combining signal and coverage analysis, and the vector network analysis functions of Site Master and VNA Master, supplemented by Spectrum Master ’s field-proven spectrum analysis capabilities, LMR Master S412E provides unmatched measurement breadth, depth, and precision. Through LMR's professional capabilities and a single instrument covering all areas of analysis needs, the tools required for verification operations and problem diagnosis will be greatly reduced.

LMR field technicians and RF engineers can use the S412E to accurately and quickly test and verify the installation and debugging of base stations, mobile devices, and portable radios. It can analyze the performance of cable and antenna systems, conduct distance-to-fault analysis, identify and locate interference sources caused by intermodulation, and analyze the on-the-air performance of control channels and voice channels . The LMR Master's optional frequency expansion is also suitable for debugging, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless network infrastructure, including broadband and microwave backhaul systems.
