The second round of bidding for offshore wind power concessions has doubled in size

Industry sources disclosed to reporters that the National Energy Administration or the second round of offshore wind power concession bidding work will be launched in the first half of next year. The bidding regulation simulation is about 2 million kilowatts, which is more than double the first round of bidding.

In the bidding for the first round of offshore wind power concessions that began in May last year, all four projects were in Jiangsu Province. They were two offshore projects located in Binhai and Sheyang, each with a scale of 300,000 kilowatts and located in Dongtai and Datong. Feng's two inter-tidal belt projects, each with a scale of 200,000 kilowatts.

In the first round of bidding, more than 15 bidders from the above four projects were involved. The bidding price of these four items is between RMB 0.62 and RMB 0.74, which is close to the price of onshore wind power in Jiangsu Province.

Industry insiders believe that the second round of bidding for offshore wind power concessions will continue to drive market demand for large offshore wind turbines. From the recent round of onshore wind power tendering, the quotation for wind turbine equipment is decreasing. On October 26 last year, the 1.5 MW wind turbine unit reported a low price of 3,850 yuan per kilowatt in the concession project for the 3.3 million kilowatt wind power plant in Hujia of Zhangjiakou and Xinjiang Hami.

Recently, major wind turbine manufacturers in China are all engaged in the development of large-scale offshore wind turbines. The off-line hours of these large-scale offshore wind turbines are mostly concentrated in the second half of this year or the first half of next year. Industry insiders expect that if these equipments are to participate in the second round of bidding for offshore wind power concessions, they will surely start the price war again.
