Kabam, a social game developer, said to enter the Chinese market during the year

On June 11th, Andy Lee, the managing director of Asia-based social game developer Kabam Asia, told NetEase that he is actively planning to officially enter the Chinese market during the year.

Last year, Kabam set up an office in Beijing to develop new products for social games and mobile games. At present, the team has more than 80 members and is responsible for multiple game projects. At the same time, Li Weining stated that he will continue to recruit game talents to join Kabam.

For the time when Kabam’s games entered the Chinese market, Li Weining stated that it will make specific plans in the second half of this year. He disclosed that Kabam and several major domestic social networking platforms have been closely communicating.

Kabam announced the completion of the D round of 85 million U.S. dollars financing at the end of last month, which will involve a large proportion of investment in the Asia Pacific region, and will pay special attention to three countries: China, Japan, and South Korea. For the news that Kabam wanted to acquire the Chinese social game development team, Li Weining said that he has been in contact with several target teams and maintained close contact. He said that he may consider acquiring some game development teams with successful product cases.

It is understood that the development of Kabam mobile games has also begun. Some of these products are handled by the Beijing studio and may be launched in China in the future.

Kabam is a social game developer founded in 2007. It focuses on hardcore gamers rather than casual gamers like Zynga and Playfish.
