Reported that Intel has successfully started testing and running 14nm test chips

In an interview recently, Intel confirmed once again that it will continue its well-known Tick-Tock strategy and that the company will launch the 14nm process in 2014 according to the original plan. However, according to the introduction, Intel has successfully run 14nm process test chips in its laboratory.

In an interview with Nordic Hardware, Intel confirmed that the company has acquired key technologies for 14nm processes and has successfully implemented trials in its laboratory. However, Intel did not disclose the specific details of the new process, and these processes will not be formally used until two years ago. Intel Corp. has suggested that the 14nm process will bring more innovations in transistor design.

Pat Bliemer, head of Intel’s Northern Europe operations, said: “We need to keep moving forward. You can believe that in our experiment, we have actually successfully run the 22nm chip products. We need to keep moving forward. I cannot disclose more relevant content. Our engineers have found a way to produce 14nm products."

It should be said that this move once again demonstrated Intel's confidence in continuous and rapid innovation in the semiconductor industry, and this also provides assurance for Intel's continued introduction of next-generation processors. On the other hand, Intel’s old rival, AMD, will continue to face competitive pressures. First, when Intel introduced the 22nm process in 2012, AMD will continue to use the relatively outdated 32nm process. By 2014, the gap between the two companies will become even more apparent. AMD will start using 20nm technology, and Intel's 14nm process will already be launched.
