The low-voltage current transformer is a device that can convert high AC current into an easily controlled low-current signal with excellent performance and stable accuracy. It is one of the most commonly used types of current transformers in the market.

Talking about this time, ACCESS Electric introduces its product: Low Voltage Current Transformer. When selecting a current transformer, there are several key factors to consider.

1. Pre-customer requirements

a. Determine the rating.

b. Customers wear bronze or cable.

c. Bronze size, number of roots (Type I bronze medal can only have 1 root, Type II, III can have more than one depending on inner diameter).

d. Cable size, small change ratio can be accepted.

e. Maximum case size.

f. Determine the installation method.

2. Transformer ratio determination

a. If the customer provides the ratio specification, the engineering department confirms feasibility and determines the ratio.

b. If the customer's requested ratio cannot be completed, consult with them to adjust the number of turns or reduce the level requirements. For larger ratios, discuss whether to choose a bigger transformer.

c. If the customer provides CAD drawings, select based on the provided specifications. For example, if it's 200/5A, select exactly that. If it's a smaller variable ratio like 40/5A, confirm with the customer whether to increase the turns to 2. If it's a non-integer like 32/5A, confirm whether to choose 40/5A (2 turns). For large non-integer ratios like 380/5A, choose 400/5A (only allowed to increase).

d. In selection, the factory’s testing range takes precedence. For example, 315/5A can be tested, but 1100/5A may not be feasible due to equipment limitations.

e. If the customer has already calculated short-time overload current, and explicitly states the measured current should be directly used, then the selected transformer should be larger than the measured current by about 2/3 of the rated value for better safety.

f. The factory produces transformers that should not exceed 1.1 times the rated current during normal operation, and up to 1.2 times for short-term use.

3. Final model determination

Based on the dimensions and ratios of each sample, the model is confirmed with the customer and submitted to the marketing department.
