What is 3C certification? Let's talk about personal understanding on the 3C issue.
1. 3C certification is a product safety certification.
In terms of electrical products, safety is mainly related to products that use 220V power, such as power amplifiers, CD players, DVD players and active speakers in Hi-Fi products. This type of product uses 220V power supply products. If there is a problem with the quality of safety, it may risk personal safety. Therefore, safety-related products in electrical appliances require safety certification. Cable products are also among electrical products that require safety certification.
2. The safety certification of electrical products has already existed.
In the past, there was the Great Wall safety certification in China. At that time, there was no strict enforcement. You may sometimes find that many computers and household appliances have the Great Wall safety certification mark. The safety certification implemented this time is uniformly managed and unifiedly marked by relevant state departments and is enforced.
3. 3C certification is in line with international standards.
International safety certifications include CE certification in Europe and UL certification in the United States. China's products must also obtain safety certification in the region when they enter the above regions. Starting from August 1st, related electrical appliances imported from abroad must also pass the 3C certification of relevant Chinese authorities, and domestic and foreign products are treated equally. This is in line with the spirit of the WTO.
4. Is all electrical products subject to 3C certification?
As mentioned earlier, products with a 220V power supply need to be certified, but passive products like headphones and speakers do not need to be certified. Users can buy with confidence. Exactly what products must be certified for safety, the country has a detailed catalog.
5. Market specifications for 3C certified products.
The 3C certification is enforced by the country, but some products that were imported before are still in stock on the market, and the country does not have detailed rules for the handling of these products. The author is not very clear. . It is estimated that these products will exist in a short period of time, but the market specification will definitely be completed soon.
6. The impact of 3C certification on users and manufacturers.
Certification is definitely beneficial to users, and it has no effect on large manufacturers, but it has a great impact on Hi-Fi products. Hi-Fi products have low output (less), but varieties and specifications More than that, the certification fee for each product will greatly increase the cost of these product manufacturers. Some Hi-Fi imported products have also been significantly affected. And the more sophisticated products, the greater the impact. For example, Sennheiser's top-level headphone system Orpheus costs 190,000 yuan, and as far as I know, there are very few (possibly no) domestic products that can hardly be imported. For example, when importing such a system, a prototype and certification fee must be paid at the same time. These fees will inevitably be added to the cost of imported goods. If only one is imported, then the price must be nearly doubled. If 10 units are imported, the cost will rise by more than 10%, so the impact on such products will be greater.
7. Impact on domestic Hi-Fi products.
The well-known domestic manufacturers have no technical problems through 3C, and there will be no problems with products that have not been certified in the past. In fact, many domestic products have been CE or UL certified. I think that the well-known domestic audio products will soon pass 3C certification, and the cost will increase slightly. The future impact will be greater on the product variety. For example, some products with low output, such as pre-amplifiers or amplifiers with balanced LP use, are not worth investing for certification because of low output, and are likely to give up.
8. It has little impact on major home appliance manufacturers.
For high-volume household appliances, the cost of certification is minimal, and many products have been certified before. So there is little impact.
