In terms of mechanical structure, in the first half of 2016, domestic coordinate robots maintained their leading position and sales accelerated. The sales volume exceeded 8100 units, accounting for 42.1% of the total sales of domestic industrial robots, an increase of 4.7 percentage points over the previous year. In the first half of the year, the multi-joint robots sold 6,225 units, a year-on-year increase of 67.2%. The growth rate was basically the same as that of the previous year, accounting for 32.3% of the total sales of industrial robots, an increase of 5 percentage points over the whole year. The sales volume of factory logistics robots exceeded 1,000 units, with a year-on-year growth rate of 71.3%. The proportion of total robot sales was the same as that of the previous year. Plane multi-joint robots sold 1,750 units, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%, accounting for 4.7 percentage points of total sales. Cylindrical coordinate robots sold 563 units, a year-on-year increase of 17.8%. Sales of parallel robots declined in the first half of the year, and 330 units were sold, down 7% year-on-year. The data shows that while the proportion of multi-joint robots is increasing, the proportion of cylindrical coordinate robots and parallel robots is decreasing, and the structure of domestic robot products is changing.

From the application field, the application field of domestic industrial robots in the first half of 2016 is basically the same as that of the previous year. 60.1% of domestic industrial robots are used in the handling and loading and unloading fields, which is 7.3 percentage points higher than the previous year, and sales volume increased by 94.3%. Among them, the handling and loading and unloading robots used for metal casting are a highlight of this year. More and more foundry companies use robots to work on loading and unloading. The market demand has expanded. From the perspective of the application industry, domestic industrial robots are widely used in the 91 industries of the 37 major industries in the national economy. Compared with the previous year, the application fields are broader. Among them, the 3C manufacturing industry (computer manufacturing, communication equipment manufacturing and other electronic equipment manufacturing) and the automobile manufacturing industry represented by automobile parts and components manufacturing and automobile manufacturing, account for the total sales of domestic industrial robots. The highest ratio is 30% and 12.6% respectively. In particular, the 3C manufacturing industry accounted for nearly 20% increase over the same period last year.

Due to the influence of the application market, 43% and 10% of domestic industrial robots were sold to East China and South China in the first half of 2016, respectively.
