**What is the “GB/T 34133-2017 Energy Storage Inverter Testing Standard�**
This standard was jointly developed by the China Electric Power Research Institute, Sunshine Power Co., Ltd., Beijing Qunling Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Xuji Power Co., Ltd. It was officially implemented on February 1, 2018. The main purpose of this standard is to provide comprehensive testing requirements for energy storage inverters, ensuring their performance and safety meet national criteria.
**What Are the Specific Test Contents of the National Standard?**
The technical specifications cover a wide range of tests, including charge and discharge testing, off-grid switching, efficiency evaluation, overload capability, power quality, power control, grid adaptability, low voltage ride-through, island protection, environmental and safety testing, protection functions, and electromagnetic compatibility testing.
Most of these test items align with those used for photovoltaic (PV) inverters, which makes it easier for many companies to adopt and implement them. However, the standard also introduces unique aspects that pose specific challenges. For instance, the section on "Power Quality Inspection" (Section 6.5) sets high demands on harmonic and interharmonic testing.
According to the standard, harmonic and interharmonic values must be statistically calculated over a 10-minute period. This requirement presents a significant challenge for testing institutions. After visiting several testing labs and energy storage companies, ZLG Zhiyuan Electronics found that there was no effective method available to fulfill this part of the test.
To address this need, ZLG Zhiyuan Electronics developed a specialized testing plug-in based on a power analyzer. This tool enables accurate testing of harmonics and interharmonics as required by GB/T 34133-2017.
