Quanzhi intelligent voice, creating a complete ecosystem from algorithm, design, manufacturing to cloud
In recent years, voice portals—especially smart speakers—have become a widely accepted trend in the tech industry. From setting alarms and playing music to controlling home devices and providing entertainment, smart speakers have truly transformed into our daily life assistants. They are helping us shift from traditional human-computer interaction methods toward more natural and intuitive ways. Over the years, Quanzhi has continuously invested in R&D for artificial intelligence voice technology and launched several high-quality chip products that have made significant impacts.
The A1 speaker, powered by the All-Right R16 chip, was one of the first smart speaker products in China. It offers over 60 functions and excels in wake-up performance, far-field recognition, and response speed. Its rich content library also delivers an excellent user experience. Recently, Chen Feng, General Manager of Quanzhi Smart Home Business Department, shared insights with the Internet about the company's latest developments in intelligent voice technology.
"The driving force behind intelligent voice is the need to free our hands and simplify access to functions. Currently, most interactions still rely on buttons and touchscreens, but in many situations, we need to be hands-free. As smart devices become more functional, their control options can become complicated. Intelligent voice helps flatten these entry points," said Chen Feng. He emphasized that the home appliance sector is the ideal application field for intelligent voice. For example, the US-based R100i IQ100 can be controlled via voice from up to 5 meters away, enabling users to switch devices or adjust temperatures easily.
Quanzhi has developed a range of voice solutions, including dual-grain, four-millimeter, and six-million voice technologies, each tailored for different recognition distances. The six-meter solution can recognize voices up to 5–10 meters away, while the dual-grain option covers 3–4 meters. These technologies offer flexible options depending on the use case.
Chen Feng highlighted the advantages of the R series: "The R series is an industrial-grade chip designed to meet the strict requirements of home appliances. R16 is a general-purpose chip used in air conditioners, audio systems, and robotic vacuum cleaners. It provides a powerful computing platform for speech algorithms, supporting both simple and complex voice recognition."
He explained why R16 was designed as a general-purpose chip: "Currently, voice technology is still largely algorithm-driven. There are two main types—traditional pattern recognition and AI-based solutions. While AI offers better adaptability and accuracy, the hardware only needs basic capabilities like audio input and sufficient computing power. A dual-core ARM 1.2G CPU is enough for most applications, so it’s not strictly a dedicated voice chip. However, the industry is moving toward specialized voice chips."
As intelligent voice technology advances, cost remains a major challenge. Chen Feng noted that adding voice features can increase device costs by at least 100 yuan, which small appliances may struggle to absorb. On the other hand, cutting costs too much could hurt user experience. To address this, Quanzhi is continuously optimizing its designs to offer the most streamlined solutions for the market.
Today’s AI wave is pushing smart voice technology forward, but it's just the tip of the iceberg. Quanzhi aims to take a leading role in this transformation. Currently, the company provides high-performance computing platforms, and in the future, it plans to introduce AI chips equipped with embedded intelligence acceleration engines.
Looking ahead, Quanzhi hopes to integrate cloud computing with local processing, building a complete ecosystem from algorithm development to manufacturing and cloud services. By doing so, the company aims to merge marketing and technology ecosystems while continuously upgrading its technology.
