Sharp has just unveiled its latest 8K television model, the AQUOS LCD-70SX970A. This new TV retains the iconic design of previous Sharp models, with a sleek and elegant appearance that embodies the term "Bright." The frame and base are crafted from aviation-grade aluminum, undergoing meticulous processes like cutting, polishing, and finishing to achieve a refined texture.
The 8K resolution offers four times the clarity of 4K, making even the smallest details, like tiny grains of sesame, clearly visible. This level of detail brings an entirely new dimension to visual experiences, especially when watching high-resolution content.
At the core of the LCD-70SX970A is Sharp’s advanced color technology, which supports Dolby Vision HDR and BDA-HDR. It also features a wide color gamut enabled by quantum dot technology, delivering more vibrant and accurate colors than ever before.
The TV showcases Japan's original 8K panel logo, highlighting its premium quality. In addition, the 10.5-generation LCD panel production line in Zengcheng, Guangzhou, which started construction this year, will specialize in manufacturing 8K panels. This move is expected to significantly boost the mass production of 8K TVs in the future.
Sound is another standout feature of the LCD-70SX970A. It uses a column-style SoundBar design with three built-in speakers, featuring a 45-degree deflection angle that enhances sound diffusion for a more immersive experience.
On the back of the TV, there are four powerful speakers designed with sonic hedonic damping technology, providing deep and rich bass while contributing to a more realistic surround sound effect. This is a unique audio technology developed by Sharp.
In terms of hardware, the LCD-70SX970A is equipped with a 64-bit processor running a 64-bit operating system, along with 5GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This configuration ensures faster data transmission and improved performance, perfectly suited for the demands of 8K content.
Due to the significant increase in resolution, the optimal viewing distance for a 70-inch 8K TV is much closer—only about 68cm (or 75% of the TV height). While it may seem very close, this reduced distance enhances the sense of immersion, offering a truly unique experience in the 8K era.
