ON Semiconductor introduces ultra-small package dual output white LED driver for handheld devices...
ON Semiconductor's LED product line, an energy-efficient power management solutions provider, has added two dual-output white LED drivers for handheld and consumer electronics. The NCP5602 and NCP5612 are available in a 2.0mm x 2.0mm x 0.55mm LLGA-12 package and are the industry's smallest dual output charge pump for driving LCD display backlighting. Each device achieves up to 87% efficiency and a matching performance of 0.2% between LED and LED, ensuring matching and consistent brightness. The built-in ICON function of the NCP5602 and NCP5612 can drive a small current through one of the two LEDs for visibility of the clock display in dark environments. This dimming mode simplifies the entire design without the need for additional software programming. The NCP5602 and NCP5612 also feature short-circuit protection and overvoltage protection for safe operation without adding additional components.
